You might have noticed I added Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Colitis to my blog titles today. I decided that based on the similarities of the the diseases that it might be helpful to include this as well. If you have Crohn’s IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and/or Colitis and you try juicing, please post your results!
In these recipes I use a Breville BJE510XL juicer. Please read my Day 1 post. I chose this juicer based it’s good reviews, mid-range price, and ease of clean-up.

One last thing, I decided to start a separate post with each of my juicing recipes and give them a grade as far as taste. I don;t want to get crazy here because I do not know all the nutritional value of each recipe. I feel that if I can replace some of what I eat with juice it will allow my body to absorb more nutrients. I will give a recipe and A thru F rationg on taste only and a few comments. So here it is:
Day 2 recipe: Mock V8 vegetable juice Grade B- Too spicy, back off the hot sauce and it might move to a B+
- 1/4 cup spring water
- 2 tomatoes
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 handful spinach
- 1-2 carrots
- 1/4 sweet onion
- 1-2 celery stalks
- 2 tsp. lemon juice
- 1-2 shots hot sauce to taste
Day 3 Recipe #1: Cranberry Juice Grade C Juicing straight cranberries is nasty, after we added a lot of water and sugar it became drinkable. Giving is a C because I needed to add sugar.
- Three large handfuls of cranberrys
- 12 oz of water
- 1/4 cup of sugar.
- Makes around 16 OZ
Day 3 Recipe #2: Orange Juice with Spinach Leaves Grade A, the best juice I have had so far!
- Two large handfuls of spinach leaves
- Three medium size oranges pealed
- juice leaves first
- Makes around 13 OZ
Day 4 Recipe #1: Cucumber, Celery, Spinach, Grape Juice Grade D, Lousy medicinal taste not great to drink but I was able to drink it all.
- Handful of spinach
- One large cucumber
- Two Celery Stocks
- Handful of Grapes
- Made 16 OZ.
Day 5 Recipe #1: Papaya, Orange, Pineapple Juice Grade A+, Tasted great!
- 1/3 Papaya
- 2 Oranges
- 1/3 Pineapple
- Made 32 OZ!
Day 7 Recipe Grade B- Not that great tasting, just OK
- Two tomatoes
- Three Carrots
- Two Celery Stalks
- Two handfuls of spinach leaves
